Meet the Inventor of the Watering Probe
Hello, my name is Barry Johnson. I am the inventor and manufacturer of the Watering Probe.
The Watering Probe was devised in 1995 as a means to solve a problem in my own garden. We had an ugly concrete retaining wall surrounding our swimming pool and we failed with all attempts to grow plants to hide or soften this wall. The area was exposed to the sun for much of the day. The problem was that the ground at the bottom of the retaining wall was paved and even though we removed paving and improved the soil, we could not get enough water into the soil with surface watering to sustain the plants. Water would simply run off the surface of the soil and onto the paving allowing very little water to soak into the soil.
